Most of
valves on the market have the shortcoming of poor sealing performance, and many purchaser have no way to solve the problem. After the long-term and careful study, Baltic has found the following five methods to help you solve the poor sealing performance of
valves, and here we are glad to share the methods with you.
1.
The method of grinding
The fine grinding not only can help eliminate marks on the valves' sealing surfaces, reduce the sealing gap, but also can improve the finish of the sealing surface as well as enhance the sealing performance of the
valves.
2.
The method of increasing the sealing pressure ratio by unbalanced force
There is certain sealing pressure produced by the actuator on the
valve spool. When the unbalanced force tends to make the valve spool open, the sealing force of the valve spool is the force difference between the unbalanced force and the sealing force of the valve spool; when the unbalanced force tends to make the valve spool close, the sealing force of the
valve spool is the total force of the unbalanced force and the sealing force of the valve spool, which will make the sealing pressure much larger and makes the sealing performance of the valve five to ten times much better than before. The single sealed
valve with DN20 or more than DN20 usually belong to the former type and it is mainly the flow open type. If the sealing performance of the single sealed valve is not that satisfactory, the flow open type single sealed
valve can be changed to the flow closed type single sealed valve, which will make the sealing performance of the valve much better.
3.
The method of improving the sealing performance of the actuator
Improving the sealing performance of the actuator on the valve spool is also the common way to improve the sealing performance of the
valve, ensure that the valve is completely closed as well as increase the sealing pressure of the valve. The most commonly used approaches to improve the sealing performance of the valve's actuator are listed as follows.
Change the elastic range of the spring.
Replace the spring with the small stiffness.
Get the
valve equipped with the component such as the locator.
Increase the pressure of the gas source.
Replace the actuator with the one with much bigger power.
4.
The method of adopting the single sealing or the soft sealing structure
The double sealed control valve can be changed to the single sealed type, which can make the valve's sealing performance ten times better than before. If the unbalanced force is large, appropriate measures are supposed to be taken. For the hard sealed
valve, it can be changed to the soft sealed type, which also can improve the sealing performance of the valve to a certain degree.
5.
The method of replacing the valves with those owning better sealing performance
When all the above methods fail, it can be considered that the
valve should be changed with the one with better sealing performance. For example, the ordinary butterfly valve can be changed with the ellipse butterfly valve.
