14 Taboos of Installing a Valve (Part Two)

Taboo 6
There are no holes or embedded parts in the building structure under construction. The size of the holes is too small and the embedded parts are not marked.

Consequences: During the construction of Heating Engineering, Building Water Supply and Drainage and Sanitary Engineering, the construction structure is changed and even the principle reinforced steel bar is cut off, affecting safety of the building.

Measures: Carefully read the construction drawing. Holes or embedded parts should be reserved based on the design requirements and construction specifications.

Taboo 7
When the pipeline is welded, the inner walls are not aligned. The width and height of the welding seam don't meet the requirements of the construction specification.

Measure: The inner walls should be aligned. The width and height of the welding seam should meet the requirements of the construction specification.

Taboo 8
The pipeline is directly buried in frozen soil and untreated loose soil. The distance and position of the buttress of the pipeline are not proper.

Consequences: The pipeline is damaged in the tamped backfill process due to the unstable support, resulting in rework and repair.

Measures: The pipeline should not be buried in frozen soil and untreated loose soil. The distance of the buttress should meet the requirements of the construction specification. The support should be stable, especially at the interface of pipelines, and there should not be shear force. Brick buttresses should be built with the cement mortar so as to ensure integrity and firmness.

Taboo 9
The expansion bolts of the fixed pipe brackets are of poor quality. The holes for installing expansion bolts are too large, or the expansion bolts are installed on brick walls or even light walls.

Consequences: The pipe support is loose. The pipe is deformed or even falls off.

Measures: The qualified expansion bolts must be selected. If necessary, the specimens should be sampled for inspection. The holes for installing the expansion bolts should not exceed 2mm of the outer diameter of the bolts. The expansion bolts should be applied to the concrete structure.
